Why You Should Increase Your Service Prices in 2025: A Note to Fellow Brow and Lash Artists

Why You Should Increase Your Service Prices in 2025: A Note to Fellow Brow and Lash Artists

As we step into 2025, it’s time for a fresh perspective—not just on shaping brows but also on shaping our businesses. As Beauty Professionals, we pour our passion, skill, and time into enhancing our clients' confidence, and it’s important that our prices reflect the true value of what we offer. Raising your service prices might feel daunting, but here’s why it’s not just necessary—it’s essential.

  1. Inflation and Rising Costs of Doing Business

The cost of running a salon continues to rise. From rent and utilities to the premium products we use to ensure client satisfaction, these expenses chip away at our profits. Inflation isn’t slowing down, and your pricing should keep pace. If you don’t adjust, you’re effectively earning less with each passing year.

  1. Acknowledging Your Expertise

Every client who walks into your salon isn’t just paying for perfectly shaped brows; they’re paying for your years of experience, training, and precision. As your skills improve and certifications grow, so does your worth. A price increase reflects the expertise you bring to each session.

  1. Improved Client Experience

Higher pricing often translates into the ability to offer an elevated experience for your clients. You can invest in better tools, higher-quality products, and even additional training to stay on top of premium service offerings like Lash Lift or Brow Lamination. Your clients will notice and appreciate the enhanced service.

  1. Attracting Ideal Clients

Adjusting your prices can help you align your business with your ideal clientele. Those who value your work will respect the price increase because they recognize the artistry and care you bring to their brows.

  1. The Power of Perception

Let’s be honest—pricing influences perception. Higher rates often signal premium quality. If your prices are too low, potential clients might assume your services aren’t top-tier, even when they are. Position yourself as the professional you are by setting prices that match your brand.

  1. Planning for Growth

Whether it’s saving for better marketing, hiring an assistant, or upgrading your salon space, a higher income gives you the financial freedom to grow. By increasing your prices, you’re not just covering costs—you’re investing in your future.

How Much Should You Raise Prices?

A reasonable price increase is typically 10–20%, but this depends on your services, market, and goals. Here are some examples of adjusted pricing:

  • Brow Shaping:
    • Current price: $50
    • New price: $60 (+20%)
  • Brow Lamination:
    • Current price: $110
    • New price: $130 (+18%)
  • Lash Lift:
    • Current price: $120
    • New price: $135 (+12%)
  • Nano-Brows (Advanced Technique):
    • Current price: $550
    • New price: $625 (+14%)

If you’re unsure how much to increase, research local competitors and calculate the costs of your products, time, and salon expenses. Ensure your new rates reflect both your worth and market expectations.

How to Increase Your Prices with Confidence

If you’re ready to make the shift, here’s how to do it strategically:

  1. Communicate Early: Give your clients a heads-up, ideally 1–2 months in advance. Share the “why” behind the increase, focusing on the enhanced value they’ll receive.
  2. Showcase the Benefits: Emphasize the premium products, new techniques, or additional services that come with the price adjustment.
  3. Stay Confident: Some clients may push back, but remember: those who value your work will stay. You deserve to be compensated fairly for your artistry.

At BROW DOWN STUDIO, our salons in LA and Beverly Hills we will be not only including a market increase but also launching new services, so here is the email that we will be sending our clients:

A Note from our Founder:

Thank you so much for your continued patronage and support of BROW DOWN STUDIO. December 1st marked 8 years of being in business, and we are incredibly grateful for the trust you have put in us for your brows, lashes and facials! So much has changed since we created our menu back in 2016, and we are excited to share the completely renovated service offerings with you.

In our new menu, you’ll notice the launch of Hybrid Tinting, which is a long lasting brow stain that not only tints the hair but also the skin for a bolder brow look. We are also launching a Junior Brow Artist category, which will be in line with the department store price point - but with our elevated twist. Our Junior Brow Artists will undergo rigorous training before hitting the studio floor, and you can rest assured that they will deliver the top notch service we are known for.

We are moving away from the New Client / Returning Client structure, because we don't want our returning clients to miss out on the mapping portion of the brow service that we previously only did on new clients; mapping can now be added on complimentary by request. We are simplifying our facial menu to encourage our clients to increase their facial consistency, and bringing down the price of Bio Repeel, because it is SUCH a great service that can be added on for elevating your facial goals. Lastly, you will also notice our first small market increase since 2021.

Thank you so much for your continued patronage and allowing our business to evolve, reinvent and stay in the #1 best rated beauty studio in Los Angeles.

All my best,

Rene de la Garza

Founder of BROW DOWN STUDIO

The Bottom Line

Raising your prices in 2025 isn’t just about earning more—it’s about valuing yourself, your craft, and your clients. You’re not only shaping brows; you’re shaping confidence, empowerment, and trust. Don’t undervalue the transformative power of your work.

Let’s make 2025 the year we own our worth as eyebrow artists and business owners. Your talent deserves it.

Here’s to your success!
